It is reported that the barcodes will be able to be scanned and then turned into cash. Refunds from companies, and renumeration for casual workers, etc.
Obviously it is cheaper than generating a cheque, but why can’t the barcode relate to just about anything the sender wanted it to relate to?
There are already barcode mobile ticketing solutions out there, where by your ticket into the show is sent to you by SMS. You make your way to the show, present the barcode on your cell screen, and your barcode (ticket) is scanned for entry.
